This was the weirdest book I have ever read. It was very all over the place for most of it, and the ending was just as confusing.

I watched the Charlie Kaufman film when it came out in 2020 and knew I’d want to watch it again sometime. I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a film that so clearly deserves a second viewing.
Well, it’s now 2022 and I never did get around to watching it again. But hey, why not read the book instead?
I was not disappointed by the book. I can’t say which is better, the book or the film, as the film is truly an excellent adaptation of the text.
The book is just as moody and quietly melancholy. It does its job of portraying this mood so incredibly well.
If you haven’t watched the film or read the book: keep an open mind and give it a try if you’re in the mood for something dark and somber.

I actually enjoyed this quite a bit more than I anticipated.
really glad i listened to this on audio because i’m not sure i would’ve enjoyed it as much as i did if i’d read it physically.
it was pretty disturbing and eerie and actually made me physically uncomfortable at times. for once i didn’t predict the ending but it still made sense, it didn’t feel like it came out of nowhere.
if you wanna pick this up, i highly recommend listening to the audiobook.
