A really interesting concept for a novel, and I found the Elizabethan England portions especially well-written and immersive. Especially intriguing is the idea that a small, seemingly insignificant act can have a major impact on world events, but that the ripple effects of that event are impossible to fully trace or comprehend.

I didn't connect to any of the characters and found the timelines and alternate worlds confusing.

Great Man Theory
A sad story revolving changing history and or key people in history. Someone said that this is the Great Man Theory. For me the book made me think of the movie 12 Monkeys where Bruce Willis constantly questioned his sanity on whether he was traveling back and forth through time or not. People did not believe him, and he started to doubt his sanity.

This book felt like reading a dream which I guess makes sense because both her lives were dreams (not a spoiler, and kind of the point of the book). All the parts in the past had the feeling of someone trying way to hard to make things sound old timey, Shakespeare randomly became important to the plot in a very forced way and the book ending felt how it feels when your alarm clock goes off and you want to keep dreaming but your dreams no longer make sense so you just sit there in a haze.
