The only male romance author I can think of is Nicholas Sparks which gave me a slight ick while reading this.

Writing style, also didn't like her other books, and main character hates to read

Quick and cute. I loved Drew, she was real and funny and relatable. Jasper on the other hand - I have no idea who he is as a person. For books like this, I much prefer the alternating perspective, so that we get to see into the heads of our two leads. Not the most romance-y romance, but it was still sweet with a little spice.
