I really wanted to love this one most in the series so far but it was just so rushed when it didn't need to be. I don't know why this one was so much shorter than the first two but it did it a disservice. It didn't need to be!! The end was so rushed and it should've been like, a book long mystery about the goddess and what was actually going on; a missing Fate and random monsters showing up. Bummed it was so sped thru cause there was some really interesting plot points going on. I can pretty much usually look past cringe dialogue, but when the book was already kind of annoying me it did push me over the edge a little bit. And the scene where Mads had to eat the compliments in front of those tortured men... that was a little much for me. In the first two books the relationships felt more developed, so I don't know if that wasn't the case here because these characters have already known each other for so long or what but I wish there had been more romance / development / moments between the two that didn't feel like, forced sappiness or something. But I did really like the end when they got to retire and keep all their benefits. That made me happy and I thought it was a good out for them and a good tie-in for the next book. Overall, I'm unfortunately semi-disappointed with this one.

Sapphic Perseus and Medusa retelling with spice and fates mates???
The history books said we were enemies, but they had it all wrong. It had never been me against her; it had always been us against the world.

When you go into a monster romance thinking you'll read a fun story with hot af spice and you end up crying five different times, feeling empowered and walk out with the same feelings you had after watching the Barbie movie.
Clio Evans wrote a love letter to all the girls who never felt like they were enough, to the girls who were told by society they weren't pretty enough, meek enough, good enough, docile enough. To all the girls who told they were too loud, too opinionated, too much. And she did it while tearing down the lie that we need to be saved by a man in order to feel enough. This is her magnum opus. I will read this again and again when I need to be reminded that I am worthy of love, desire, admiration, and respect.
Also Percy and Meduse f*** and it's so dang hot my panties burst into flames.
The best sapphic romance I have ever read.

The best Perseus and Medusa retelling I’ve ever read!
It gave a new spin to the tale with the sapphic romance that was so absolutely yummy. I sadly don’t read much sapphic and this was so great.
The smex between them was off the charts. I felt the connection and intimacy they shared through the pages.
I was flipping through the pages so fast because the dang plot had me on edge. I truly had no clue who was messing with the ladies and was surprised by the turn of events.
Must read! Im a Clio Stan for life ❤️❤️

This was a fantastic addition to the Three Fates Mafia and my first sapphic romance, I know right?
While this was not my favorite of TFM, it was still a good read nonetheless. It definitely had it's own vibes with the flashbacks and the just general spice of the book.
The pet names used in this book are just chefs' kiss. And Perseus as a woman in love with Medusa/Mads? Absolutely.
Things you'll find:
- sapphic romance
- retelling (loose)
- schmerder
- deception
- mystery
- spicy for sure!
- BDSM elements
All in all a good read, but I don't think I'll be reading again.

Sapphic romances are right up my alley, but I’m a bit disappointed with Clio and their writing for this book. I didn’t feel the same connection to the characters as I did with the other two books in this series. Or with her other series. The smut was just subpar and honestly didn’t do it for me. I love their books and how they write them, but I am just disappointed with the outcome of this one. Hopefully the fourth is better???
