Ooookay... boy oh boy..... I mean I am never going to look at mushrooms in the same way again. Wow this is some heady powerful intoxicating stuff. It’s like drinking a very deep, rich thick merlot or Malbec or port something that feels velvety and smooth and deep deep red. Wow. Wow I am speechless.... and also slightly sexy in some scenes. Wow fantastic.... I don’t know what to say. It has elements of Wilkie Collin’s Woman in White.. hints of madness and villainy crosses with Shirley Jackson’s haunting of hill house.... just the sense of menace and utter despair. Riveting you’ll never want to put it down.

Probably my new fixation and favourite book.
This book was so bizzare and odd and i loved it.
I love Noemí, I love Francis, I love Catalina and i have never ever hated someone as much as i hated Virgin and Howard. Disgusting mfs.
This somehow reminded me of Resident Evil 7, the family and all.
Its so interesting how the mfs are mushrooms, Francis a mushroom man.
I fully believe they got their house with no curtains and got married.
Catalina is happy too, that woman needs no husband for a while.

This was SUCH an amazing read with beautiful imagery and writing that kept you engaged. Although it was a bit slow in the beginning and I wanted more from the ending, this was definitely one of my favorite books this year and I am so excited to read more books from this author.

I absolutely loved the romance in this book. With that being said, I think the book could have been 100 pgs less. I liked the plot but often felt like it was prolonging the story. Truthfully, it didn't start to get interesting until the last 100 pgs of the book. Nevertheless, it was an interesting read.
