One of the darker books in this series.

I don't like Meg.

With the initial plot that intrigued me wrapped up in Francesca and Sal's book, we are rather plot-less outside of the relationships of Meg, Mateo, and Mia for this one.

I might have one more book of this series in me to see if it keeps me going or if I am finished and ready to move on.

I started this series mainly because I like Sam Mariano’s dark romance books and her characterizations of villainous characters, but I was definitely intrigued when I read some comments by readers who mentioned this series having a switcheroo of sorts lol. And I needed to see how this was gonna play out between the FMC and the true MMC of this series so I stuck around to read the series in its entirety.

Resisting Mateo was … Well, I finished it so I obviously did push through to the end, but I gotta say — it feels way too fast-paced, especially when you realize there’s like seven other books to read after this one. My suspension of disbelief was also pushed to its limit many times. The story world, quite literally limited to the Morelli mansion, feels insular and I wish we could’ve read more about what the heck these mafiosos were up to outside of using their women in the bedroom. I’m not asking for the politics of the criminal underworld, just … something more to actually make these guys feel legit lol.

I feel like this was the case for the entirety of the series so I’ll just repost this review for the others. On a positive note: the full story is entertaining despite its pitfalls if you can handle dark themes and can suspend your disbelief.

How can you not love this series?

Okay, fair enough, lots of taboo things within. But that's what makes it so exciting! The Morellis have drama like no other, and unsurprisingly, Mateo is at the center of it.

Loved all the twists and turns. This one left me feeling so so good. Can't wait for the next.

HOLY CRAP! One of my favorite books of all time.

THIS is the key turning point in this series, when everything starts to become clear and the pieces start to fall in place. I didn't even know what I needed- but Mateo did- he's been playing the long game, and while when I first read this (I've sense read it many other times, as well as the entire series) I was not sure how this was going to work and what this all meant, but OH MY. Sam is a genius.

This book is one of my favorites of the whole series and all time. Shocking, unconventional, brilliant, delicious. An insane page turner, heart breaking and heart warming. Sam will make you fall in love with a bad, bad man- we're all just part of his masterminded plan to move everyone on the cheese board just where we want. He surprised me, in fact EVERYONE surprised me here, and i'm not sure I could live in this chapter of the journey for long - but where we're going is EPIC.

1/2! It would've been a 5 if the sister wife thing wasn't there, or at least wasn't treated like it's completely normal. Btw, If I knew how to put a gif or meme in my review, it would be one of Dorothy from the Golden Girls giving that look of, "Are you kidding me?!?!" lol.

I liked the way the Vince storyline played out. It actually made sense and tied up loose ends by giving everyone what they truly. I still think Mia let Mateos off too easy. Then again, it's probably why he loves her more than Meg.

The sister wife thing is too much for me, especially when there are small kids around. I wish there was a chance Meg's baby could belong to someone else, or something happened that wouldn't keep her and the baby tied to Mateos. She's funny, but I just don't like her in this triangle thing and as street smart as she's supposed to be, she's swallowing way too much.

One thing I'd absolutely would LOVE is a book from the men's POV. Would love to know what they're thinking (especially Mateos!)
