This was so fun and full of adventure! Loved the characters and the plot. No TSTL heroine or stupidly brooding men. Definitely a recommended read in the urban fantasy genre.

Happy reading, Goodreads fiends.

This book kept my interest. I wanted to see how it ended. I think it is a good a book for any reader who likes magic, mystery and light-hearted fiction.

The beginning of an entertaining series about a human waitress who stumbles into a job as a bartender for a hidden guild of magic users.

Memorable and fun characters, and good laughs.

This is a really great start to a new series. The world was intriguing, and the story was solid. I like the characters (except, of course, the ones you aren't supposed to like), and I really enjoyed the layers to everything.

My only caveat is that it is tough to really get into a UF where the heroine is the only one without powers. Don't get me wrong, she's a badass. But in a lot of respects, she's also a liability. I loved this first book, but I'm skeptical about the long run. That said, I picked up on some hints dropped that maybe one or both of her parents were hiding some critical info ...
