Can't make up my mind about this book. I know it's one of the great American novels, and there were aspects that I enjoyed, such as the way the relationship between Huck and the escaped slave Jim changed over the course of the book. However, I didn't find it engaging and had to persevere to get it finished.

Sure fun read, but can be challenging to read without context for the dialect it's written in. Super funny, Huck is such a character. It's fascinating to explore the South at this time through the eyes of a boy with his background.
