The ending shocked me on to book 3

Saint is everything.

I love the magical aspect of this. Thornchapel is harboring some deep dark secrets and watching them unfold is the best.

I thought I had it all figured out and then in the last ten pages Sierra Simone slapped me in the face with the plot twist of the century and ya girl RAN to the next book.

Sierra Simone does such a fantastic job with capturing your attention and sucking you in. And the second Thornchapel book is no different, it digs deeper into the mystery of Poe's mom's disappearance, plus we get tons of backstory on Auden and St. Sebastian's past.  I also love the hints of romance between Rebecca and Delphine. I'm so glad I dont have to wait for book 3 because it just keeps on getting better as you go.

2.5 stars

Honestly I was so bored. I found myself skipping entire pages of uninteresting monologue about what each protagonist should or shouldn’t do/feel. All the mythical / pagan history wasn’t engaging. And I could see the ending coming from 3 miles away.

Expect if it receive extremely good reviews, I will not be continuing with the third installment.

Sierra Simone (Thornchapel, #2)

Unbelievably riveting from start to finish. In this book, we enter the mind of St. Sebastian, the enigmatic man who has Auden wrapped around his finger. It’s clear that these two boys have some very deep history in their past and there’s a betrayal between them that they both can’t seem to get over. Despite that, there’s still so much tension and so much love between them that seems like it’s never going to go away. I absolutely loved the dual timeline of finding out what happened in the past and watching them repair their relationship in the present. I love Auden and St. Sebastian so so sooooo much. This was filled with ritualistic kink and old traditions and classic Sierra Simone spice and angst and I loved every single minute of it. That ending, though? My jaw DROPPED. Literally my heart fell through my stomach. Oh my God. I can’t wait to keep reading because WHAT?!
