To read a collection of trans, non-binary and intersex voices talking about moments of joy from their gender is such an uplifting, (sadly) subversive experience in light of how trans stories are often marred by pain, exclusion and harrassment. I found it revelatory to read other people's small, medium and big wins in their identity, as well as having familiar feelings put to words.
Each writer had their own clearly distinct approach towards the topic. One of my few complaints of the book, is that of the writers who gave their age none were over 30; I would have loved to have read more stories from trans, non-binary and intersex elders too. There were also some essays I didn't care much for, but as to be expected from a collection of different voices. Hence my 4 star rating.
There were some moments of absolute brilliance, whether they were gems of wisdom, heartfelt passages that touched your emotions, and times of laughter with sentences that make you smile. It's a sincere, emotionally honest book.

Minor: Sexual content and Grief
Topics touch on sex, BDSM, grief and violence. It comes hand in hand with people talking honestly about their lives really, but I'm mentioning it so it doesn't come as a surprise.
