This book was a slow build at first but definitely made up for it in the end. It was like a National Treasure movie made for adults with maps.

my feelings abt this book are very conflicted.... like there were a lot of things abt it that I liked but also some parts seemed very pretentious ????

3.5 stars. I swear my brow was knit the entire time reading this book. It definitely sucked me in and I love the concept. However, I feel like there were some plot holes and the story could’ve done with more character development. Like I didn’t really understand each characters motives for their actions and they took major action. Overall, a fun read though!

This book was so much fun. It felt like Lemony Snicket for grownups, but you definitely need to be willing to take it as just a fun book. The rationale behind certain decisions made absolutely no sense to me. It was a fun diversion and I’ve been struggling to read much of anything lately and this was just unique and enjoyable.
