I am, at the moment, babysitting two little boys aged 3 and 5. Every day I try to read them at least three books, and not just to add them to my book count. I believe in the power of reading to children, of encouraging them to read and seek out knowledge on their own. Although books like this aren't wildly educational, they too have an important purpose.
Many children are raised in a manner that, intentionally or not, indicates that they won't be loved if they don't behave perfectly at all times. Books like this serve to remind the child that, though they may act up and break the rules, or they may be fearful or shy or frustrating, they are still loved.
Written in a simple style for very young children and adorably illustrated, I certainly recommend this book at least as an occasional read. It is especially nice after a long day that may have been a little rough.

I’m super excited to be able to share this book with the foster kids I work with in my role as a CASA volunteer.
