Page turning story with unique setting and ideas. More violence than I would prefer and a lot of unnecessary exposition.

My first piece of translated literature. Interesting to see the way that the Chinese cultural ways of thinking and phrasing were communicated across to English. Really interesting, I will likely take a break between this and the next book in the series to consider. Really good SciFi that includes some pretty wild concepts.

Going into the book I was afraid it would be dry since hard sci-fi isn't my normal genre, so I decided to go with the audiobook. This easily took it from a 3 star experience to a 4 star experience. The reader was engaging and I very much enjoyed him, and the book itself wasn't as dry as I was expecting.
