Recommendations of CD Reiss keep coming my way, so I decided to make this my first listen by her, and it did not disappoint. I was not expecting what I heard. This story about an A-list actor falling for the nanny is a front page tabloid read I see all the time. But CD Reiss came through with a sweet, sexy background that makes me sit back and enjoy. Brad Sinclair, the actor is given his daughter, Nicole after her mother is tragically killed. SURPRISE!!!! He is now a daddy to a five year old. Caught completely off guard, he needs to find help, and fast. Cara literally walks into his and Nicole's life, and not only has he found his nanny, but he may have found the one person who completes him. Their journey to happiness is far from smooth. There are so many bumps in the road, ones that are expected as the book goes on, others that are complete surprises. CD Reiss includes not only what is normally heard about Hollywood happenings, but also real life issues and life changing decisions making this book interesting as well as complete and total entertainment. Nicole Garcia Sinclair will steal your heart too!

The seasoned narrators for this book are perfect. Andi Arndt and Christian Fox are perfect. I especially loved Christian Fox, he made Brad feel real from the pompous A-lister to the compassionate father.

Usually love Reiss's romances, but this one, featuring a Hollywood star and the nanny he hires to take care of his just-discovered daughter, had a lot of issues about dating the person you work for for me. Both characters were appealing, but film star Brad had A LOT of male privilege that he took very much for granted (although I'm guessing that's probably not too far off a depiction of many real-life film stars). The unexpected revelation near book's end was pretty upsetting, but I found the hero's climactic decision to be just a little too late and not quite believable.

I adored this book

I won this book in a giveaway and am so impressed. I loved every bit of it. I enjoyed reading how Brad grew as a person from the beginning to the end. And how Cara stood firm on what she believes. I love a heroine with a backbone. I’m planning to binge read CD Reiss now!

I can honestly say I hated Brad through most of the book. I'm pretty sure that was the point. Brad was the cocky don't give any f@cks movie star. He lived for partying and had the mentality of a 20 year old on Spring Break. I hated him. Did you see that...hated? I don't hate him any more. No, I'm pretty sure I would be one of those simpering idiot girls with their tongues on the floor. Why you ask, why did I make a 560? ( I know you are trying to figure it out right now. A 560, is a 360+ 180. Because this book won't leave you at 180, no these characters will drag you around until you hit the 560 mark. You will be hemming and hawing and straight up angry but you will get there.)

So after this crazy trip in circles, you will see. You will smile just like me. You will have wet eyes and a hopeful glow. So even if you hate Brad, you will learn he grows on you.

He isn't the namesake for the title in the traditional sense but he is definitely what I think of...

Bombshell is actually the first book that I have read from CD Reiss, but I have heard nothing but good things about her books so I was really excited to give this one a go. Unfortunately this wasn't what I had been hoping for, but it seems like others have said that her other books are better so I am curious to give her other books a shot.

Bombshell centers around Hollywood bad boy Brad Sinclair. For those who have read Shuttergirl, he will be familiar to you, but if you are like me and haven't read it you can understand this one just fine as this is a standalone story. Brad finds himself suddenly a father after a cute five year old is dropped in his life after losing her mother. Cara DuMont doesn't do celebrity fathers after some bad experiences, but as a nanny who sees a young adorable girl in need of help she finds herself saying yes to a temporary position taking care of Brad Sinclair's young daughter Nicole. She never expected or wanted to fall for him as well as his daughter though, and she quickly realizes that no matter how hard she tries she is unable to fight the connection she feels to them.

Part of my issues here were the characters. I felt like Brad had his moments where he was completely unlikable, and unfortunately that continued throughout the entire book. Right up until the very end, I just had so many times where he was a self-centered jerk and really didn't seem to think about any kind of consequences. I never felt like there was a true turning point for him, and that had me not believing that there could be anything truly real for these two. Cara talked a good game about how she couldn't be with him and was against anything unprofessional, but when it came down to it she hardly put up a fight. She seemed to change her mind far too easily and I couldn't relate to her or get behind it. All that being said though, I really never felt like the connection between these two was fully formed. It felt like it was strictly physical, and I just didn't believe in the long term for them. They had great chemistry and a ton of attraction between them, but that was it for me. Nicole was adorable, and I did believe that they both cared about her but I wanted to see more.

I also felt like a lot of this story was about Brad wanting someone to help make his life easier with Nicole, and that he at least partially was just looking for a mother figure for her. While he said that wasn't true, at times his actions, thoughts and words spoke to a different story. As much as I wanted to feel differently, that never changed as I continued to read. While I had been hoping for more, I had to force myself at times to pick this book back up. It just didn't hold my attention like I wanted it to, and without feeling invested int he characters or story it made it hard at times to want to read. Overall, this wasn't one that I would recommend, at least if you are new to CD Reiss like I was. I will give some of her other books a shot since I have heard so many good things about her, but for me this one was just okay and was more problematic than successful.

I have read almost every book CD Reiss has written—the bulk of which is BDSM centered. While Bombshell is not her first venture from the dark side to the land of vanilla, it is my favorite lighthearted journey of hers so far.

I love how realistic Brad’s transformation is. He isn’t unlikable, but he is a very selfish Hollywood bad boy. It would have been so easy for CD to suddenly turn him into a responsible, devoted dad once his surprise daughter lands on his doorstep and he finds a competent nanny. Easy, yes, but it would make for a boring story.

Cara is the gold standard of nannies, but she’s only willing to commit to a 30-day “consultant” arrangement with Brad. She’s not afraid of bluntly schooling him in how to be a good single father. Cara has good reasons for wanting to avoid working for celebrity fathers. Unfortunately for her, she has a tendency to become attached to the children under her care, and it’s difficult to guard her heart against Brad’s daughter, Nicole. In addition, her attraction to Brad is both surprising and unwelcome.

Nicole is a sensitive five-year-old with good manners and a maturity that’s unexpected given her age. She really is adorable, but she also has a spoiled side. The fact that Brad and Cara have such trouble saying, “No,” to her becomes rather irritating, and yet I enjoyed the progression of Nicole’s relationship with them.

The slow burn of Brad and Cara’s romantic connection is oh so good. Cara puts up a good fight, but living under the same roof with such hotness is a futile effort. The story is charming and funny, but it also packs a ton of heat. Brad and Cara almost set my Kindle on fire with some seriously scorching sex scenes. There are other side stories and conflicts that add even more interest to the story.

A little bit sweet and a whole lot sexy, Bombshell delivers both with style.

*sigh

I was so excited to read this one. The blurb caught my attention right away. Single daddy stories are my faves. Unfortunately, this one was a bit of a let down. I wanted more Brad and Nicole moments.

Good book. Believable. We can never really choose who we will fall in love with, even though we try.
Liked the twists and turns.

Love can be found in the most unexpected places.

THIS. BOOK. HAS. EVERYTHING. I. LOVE. AND. MORE.

Brad Sinclair Celebrity actor near King of Hollywood. Originally from Redfield, Arkansas he is going places. A notorious playboy and the life of any party. His partying days are over when an adorable six-year-old left on his doorstep. What can I say about Brad? I loved him and hated him at the same time. He is selfish yet caring. An idiot who screws up. Old habits are hard to break but tries to make amends. With his charisma, he has no problem wooing and making you forgive him without realizing you and even if you don’t want to.

Cara DuMont is the best in the industry let me clarify that the best in the nanny industry. While helping a friend with a small blonde sweetheart with a toilet incident. She doesn’t want to be in the limelight and has tried to keep herself on the sidelines as much as possible. She doesn’t want the job but becomes the reluctant nanny. Her past has led her to believe that she doesn’t deserve certain things. She wants stability but Brad isn’t stable.

Cara is the help in Hollywood you don’t start anything with the help. Brad wants to be better for Cara and for his daughter. It is a balance of what people think to not caring what people think.

You can’t help but not fall in love with Cara and Brad. They are steaming together. They test the boundaries know that it is a good idea but weaken and break them to only go back to being what they were before. There was so much buildup with what was between them and that added more to the book. They really get to know one another and they start to change. They become an us and a family without realizing.

There are so many moments that I highlighted between the two that I have only picked two which really struck with me.

He was beautiful as ever, but starkly human. Flawed beyond belief. Emotional and broken. He needed me to fill his empty places and in letting me do that, he filled mine. – Cara –

“You’re my glue. You’ve made me bigger. Better. And you hold it all together. All my life. I’m nothing without you.” I squeezed his hand. “You were a good man before you met me.” “I was worthless.” – Brad –

Nicole Garcia is there are no words really to describe Nicole. She is bright, and meddling for her age. She knows what she wants and well she had all the important people wrapped around her little finger. Hell, I would have given her everything she would have asked for. At the beginning, I felt so sorry for her and her situation. But Cara sure did work her magic.

“Nice to meet you, Nicole. Wanna help clean this up? “Can we do my butt first?” “Great idea.” I liked this little one. Good thing I already had a job lined up or I could have fallen for her and her dad in a heartbeat.

If this is what goes on in Hollywood then I am happy that I live a normal life because it is just cray cray crazy. Bonkers, nuts.

This is one of the best books that I have read in a long time. It sucked me in. It made me want to drop everything and read it in one sitting alas RL got in the way. I had so many feels. I laughed, I smiled, I wanted more. The story is flawless and flowed so well. It is real and raw in places and I love that. I never knew what was going to happen which is an added bonus for me. Like Cara I went back and forth to liking him and the cussing him for being an arse.

A delightful read with an angst level I can deal with. There is an epilogue to the epilogue and it is freaking A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E.

I am so going to read Shuttergirl I want to know Michael’s story as well.

On a side note I personally consider Ms. Reiss to be an inspiration. After 24 years, yes you read right 24 years she got signed with Publisher. Now that is what I call dedication peeps and many of us can take a page out of that.
