I really liked some of the stories, but then again others were just ok. Still, a nice read overall.
How have I never read Sherlock Holmes before? I found it delightful. Old fashioned and sometimes pedantic (but not annoyingly so) and just plain ol' funny. Really had low expectations (think it was free or $1 for my kindle) and was pleasantly surprised.

I loved this little collection. I love Sherlock Holmes. This collection is just so easy to read and accessible whilst being intelligent and entertaining. This collection sees Holmes and Watson solve 12 different cases. The opening story 'A Scandal in Bohemia' introduces us to 'the woman' Irene Adler which is a solid start to the collection. My two favourites have to be The Red- Headed League, which is rather comical, and the final story The Copper Beeches. The collection contains light stories such as The Blue Carbuncle which is set at Christmas and sees Holmes and Watson dashing across London in search of the origins of a Christmas turkey, to multiple darker stories three of which feature step fathers and fathers up to no good to protect their wealth from their daughters impending nuptials.
A great collection and I cant wait to pick up The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes which comes next, I just need to track it down in the same style cover!
