Our narrator's piano teacher is the pits, and he can't stand playing when he'd rather be out on the baseball field. But after several days with his grandmother while she heals from a twisted ankle, he begins to change his tune. She doesn't make him play, in fact she seems neutral about whether he play piano at all, but he wants to please her...and she smiles and stays quiet while he practices...and he chooses a song that he wants to learn (Take me out to the ballgame...) and so.... VoilĂ , he decides piano is kinda of fun after all.
