Aunt B is dead!?!?!?! Why!?!?!?!??!?! I can't believe that she sacrificed herself like that! She might have been a bitch on wheels but she was one of Kate's first defenders. D:

There were so many things wrong in this books that I don't even know where to start.

Kate power is growing and she decided to test that against Hugh who had set a trap for her. Aunt B died, George lost and arm, Doolittle is paralyzed from the waist down but thanks to Kate's kind heart they gained the ability to make panacea!

I don't know how I feel about Desandra. She has obviously been through a lot and I'm not sure how sound of mind she really is. Then again many of the pack aren't too sound of mind. :P

Edit:

I'm really sad that Aunt B is dead. She was really looking forward to retiring and holding those grandchildren but at least she died so that future children will have a lower risk of going loup. She would consider that a good death.

Hugh is kind of crazy. In a way he and Kate are siblings and he likes her? Like he was trying to come on to her!? O.O

Poor Julie. Almost losing her friend. I'm glad that the twins pulled through. And now Jennifer's baby will have a better chance at survival.

It was interesting to see the characters in a new continent.

I'm mad a Curran. He nearly broke Kate trying to protect her. Too bad Saiman couldn't have been the girl the whole time. -.-

Doolittle almost died! And he's paralyzed. :(

George lost and arm! D:

So many bad things happened in this book.

But Descandra (sp?) got to kill her father and I think one of her husbands??? I can't remember now.

Plus now she has two beautiful babies and she is free.

Edit (December 2019):

I still can't believe Aunt B sacrificed herself. I will always be sad about that.

So many people were injured and nearly died. Hugh is obviously one of Kate's biggest challenges. I mean even her Aunt didn't injure as many of Kate's people.

Hugh and Kate's relationship is still weird. A little incesty on his part.

They got the panacea creator! Go Kate. See good deeds are rewarded! Also, Christopher is now free!

I added this book to my 'Favorites' book shelf before I had even read it. And at the time I didn't even think I was being presumptuous, I just knew that the book would be that good.

And it was.

You would think that by book 6 the series would be fizzling out or just downright suck. But it is just the opposite. These books get BETTER as the series continues.

Just to give you a hint as to why this book is the epitome of awesomeness:

1. The PERFECT pacing. And yes, I do mean PERFECT. At no time in this book are you ever bored. The entire book keeps you on your toes, tense, and excited. I actually had to FORCE myself to put the book down from time to time so that I could savor everything that was going on.

2. The in depth characterization. There was sooooo much character growth, tension, and emotion! There is romantic relationship turmoil, friendships created, loyalty tested, and hatred born. Each character, not just the main or even the secondary have their reasons for their actions and thoughts, and lucky for us readers we get clued into those reasons.

3. The intense plot. Kate and Curran knowingly walk into a trap for the promise of medicine for the pack's children. Only once they get there the players involved end up being much more DANGEROUS than they could have ever expected, and the consequences are not just losing out on the medicine. Life is about the change for Kate, Curran, the Pack, and most likely the World as shit hits the proverbial fan.

I just want people to read this series. And I am assuming that if you are reading this review it is because you do read the series which makes you awesome. But if you are reading this and have never read any of these books before STOP WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING AND READ. Get them from a friend, the library, the bookstore, WHERE EVER. Just do yourself the favor and read these books.
