I agree with my original rating, the Lorelai storyline was crap and predictable but the parts with Hugh made up for it. I know it doesn't happen but Hugh would be a much more interesting love interest than Curren

Old review- Loved it! The only niggle I have with this one is the Lorelai part it was clearly obvious Curran was faking it but I still felt terrible for Kate and it put me in a shitty mood. I can't wait to see what Hugh does next he is a great bad guy

First things first, the bind-up of this one has the short story "An Ill Advised Rescue" in the back, and it's good to read that before starting the novel.

We head off to Europe in this installment of the Kate Daniels series (the series is mostly set in Atlanta, Georgia).

Most of this series has a good amount of violence, but this one hits home in a lot of places. I get very in my feels about the things that happen in this book. We lose one of my favorite characters and another fave is terribly hurt.

So, I really enjoyed the action at the end. It gets better with every book. One hundred percent. The stakes just grow higher and higher.

Desandra is very interesting! And I want to know more about what she does next.

Lorelei is irritating and so I'm so glad she's done.

I was annoyed at both Kate and Curran. But as I assumed, once Curran explained himself, it was hard to be frustrated it his initial choices. But still, he could have said something! (I don't really care if the excuse is that Kate's a bad liar...there were ways!)

But, the relationship development was satisfactory. The action was fantastic. The mystery also fantastic. And the side characters were all fabulous. Except Lorelei, she was an annoying pain in the butt.

On to the next one!

GOD FUCKING DAYMN!

✴ This was fucking awesome! ✴

This is the first time I've read this. Up until now all I have been reading, hearing from people who have read this already was that it was awful, made them oh sooooooo angry, wanting to throw the book in the deepest, darkest pits of hell and all those negative things the very first time they read it, and that made me scarred of what the fuck was happening in this as I started reading.

Now after reading this I did understood their feelings but didn't went through them myself. I don't know if you noticed but I absolutely loved this from the very first reading. Here is a time were I could veponized a virginity (ヅ)

I have no words to share that haven't been shared or even feelings for that matter. The only difference is that I went through my feeling of fucking love, adoration and awesomeness on my first go. *rubs it in your faces people who loved it from the second read onwards*

No quotes to share either cause the whole thing is a fucking quote.

Can't wait to get my greedy little hands on the next one!

Bring it on. I am ready!

Another banger. I really loved that this novel was set outside the usual Atlanta setting and outside their comfort zone and low-key loved being confused about Curran's shadiness and high-key loved Hugh. The plot was captivating and as usual Kate is just a badass who's got her stuff together. I'm seriously a huge sucker for these books because they have the perfect balance of plot, character and world-building.

I thought I was done with this series. The first couple of chapter were slow and boring, I assumed I was over Kate and Curran.

I was wroooong. The book really picks up when they get to ... Georgia was it? hah, clearly I was paying attention. It's fun and fast paced. We also finally get some screen time with Monsieur D'ambray - psycho.

Loved Kate's fighting scenes, she's so badass and of course the silly dramas. Series is still going strong , will proceed.
