First I’d like to give a big thank you to Liz Cheney, Jamie Raskin and the entire January 6th Committee for fighting for democracy at the risk of their careers.
I listened to the audiobook version of Oath and Honor and found it a succinct account of the January 6th insurrection and the events leading up to it.
Liz Cheney does an incredible job explaining the events leading up to and during the event. There are snippets from actual speeches and people involved in the insurrection. Key players are discussed (such as Cassidy Hutchison, Mark Meadows, Secret Service members, capitol police, and Mike Pence; among others).
With the division between the Republicans and Democrats becoming so wide and the glossing over of so many unethical and undemocratic actions by politicians on each side of the aisle, it is refreshing to read these views from a republican. I wish more politicians, who condemned January 6th actions when they were scared for their lives during the event but then diminished them after the fact, would stand up for democracy and morals rather than go with the flow to keep their positions.
This book gives me hope that more politicians will do the right thing in the future, despite their political affiliation.

An amazing account of a brave woman. As I listened to it, I kept hoping to learn what it is about that evil man that makes so many people believe everything he says, even such basic untruths equivalent to 2+2=5. Unfortunately, I still do not know. The epilogue was spot on. We're in big trouble if he wins - or if he doesn't and refuses to accept it again.

I agree with Liz on almost nothing, politically speaking. But she clearly took her oath of office seriously, no matter the cost. And this book was great “chisme” (as we say in Spanish).
I did the audiobook and powered through it in like 2 days.
