Never in my life I would’ve thaught that I’d agree with Liz Cheney but this memoir further shows that upholding constitutionalism and democracy is a non-partisan issue, in the US or elsewhere. It was incredibly interesting to read about the mechanisms inside one’s political party during times such as the 2020 elections and January 6th, especially because of the upcoming decisive elections around the globe.

So much horrifying truth.

I have a lot of respect for someone who can put their morals above their success, and their country above their party.

i enjoyed reading this book far more than i thought i would. Liz Cheney is such an engaging writer - her book genuinely reads like a political thriller at times. it is fast paced, filled with details, and it even features some shady comments here and there which i lived for.

the one thing i didnt love about it was the amount of religious and overly patriotic language, but that is to be expected.

4.5 stars

Ps.: for those reading it on kindle, the book actually ends at 73% - the rest is just pictures.
