Meh…
Wasn’t necessarily anything about January 6th we hadn’t heard before but it was nice to have it all in one story. Way too much humble bragging by Liz though.

Liz and I fall on opposite ends of the political spectrum but I have so much respect for her after reading this.

This should be required reading for US Government classes! I gained respect and admiration for Ms. Cheney for standing up for our Constitution and Republic, as well as her courage to provide first-hand information about the events leading up to, during, and after the insurrection at our Nation’s capital on January 6, 2021. Her lead on the Bipartisan investigative committee may have saved this country from ruin, although it ruined her congressional career. Donald Trump is the biggest threat to democracy and has verbalized several times that if re-elected, he will usurp the Constitution. This book clearly provides evidence that Trump damn well knew he lost the election, and he and his criminal cronies were the ones who tried to lie, cheat, and steal the election. Trump is the most dangerous criminal in America today!
The purpose of this book is to document in simple terms for the layman who did what when with regards to January 6th -- both before the attack on the capital and after. It documents the efforts to push back on Trumps attempts to steal the election, and how republican's ended up falling in line behind Trump after the attack. It also details how the January 6th comittee came about and conducted it's work, as well as the comittee's results.
This book is clear and concise in detailing the events. It's clear that documenting how the house, and the republican members of the house, reacted to Trump's attempt to overthrow the election is the purpose of this book. The author knows that historians will use this in the future when writing their own papers and history books, and therefore works to state things without aggrandizement or exaggeration. There's some political speech that leaks in at points, but it never gets in the way of detailing who acted honorably and forthright in the author's opinion.
TL;DR This book is worth a read, especially If you want to know how the republican party in the house failed when it came to Donald Trump and January 6th.

This was just too hard to listen to, considering the warnings the author gave over 4 years ago and the fact that Americans still supported Trump after January 6. It just was too depressing. Also, not the best on Audio. Still had 8 hours after listening to over 4. I think I’d prefer it on paper.
Cheney’s way of writing is as inspiring as it is detailed and informative. Her belief in America and the Constitution as well as dedication to truth is so evident as she tells her story.
