Loved this book! Sparks definitely fly from the very beginning, and it's a wonderful rollercoaster ride. Already purchased the original book in the series from which this is spinning off, hoping it's just as thrilling!

The writing. I couldn't get past the writing. Typically mild "enemies to lovers" trope involving a broody male & scarred female.

Dare and Kenzie’s story was perfectly written in Whiskey Secrets! A page turner that I could not put down. Dare and his brothers were intriguing when we just got a glimpse of them in the Montgomery Ink series but not that we have a whole series it’s even better. Not only is Dare hot and super family oriented his protection of Kenzie is amazing. The dynamic from the beginning between these two is great to watch and the evolution of their relationship is a great read. I love the interplay of the brothers and sister...it’s nice to see all the different layers that each of these guys have. Kenzie’s backstory is scary but was written so well and I’m glad they overcame all their obstacles..I’m really looking forward to the next book. Another great start to a great series by Carrie Ann Ryan!!!

Carrie Ann Ryan starts my 2018 reading year with all the feels. Emotional, sweet, sensual with just the right amount of hotness to get you to your happy place. Kenzie and Dare are like two pea in a pod but with different issues from the past that plague their present. Kenzie is an amazingly strong woman. Issues that seem to always keep them both on their toes. Dare and Kenzie created sparks the moment they met. I loved that their connection was not only physical but very deep on the emotional side. They found a way to help each other deal and heal with past. Whiskey Secrets is a fantastic start to the Whiskey and Lies series. Kenzie and Dare are both well developed and yet complex at the same time. They connection they share and built is something of beauty. For a faster pace of the story we experience a lot of growth for Dare and Kenzie and potential development for future story.

With Whiskey Secrets Carrie Ann is introducing us to another close knit family. The Collinses, family to Tabby who is engaged to Alex Montgomery, are protective Alphas. When Kenzie is hired to run the family Inn she becomes family to be protected. Kenzie and middle son Dare butt heads at first meeting, but maybe that's just a byproduct of something else? I absolutely could not put this down till I finished it. The small town of Whiskey Pennsylvania and the residents we meet grab your heart and your imagination. Kenzie and Dare with all of their baggage make you want to just root for them with all of your heart. I can't wait for Fox's story.

Dare and Kenzie are a cute couple. I really enjoyed meeting the Collins family. Like all of Carrie Ann Ryan's books this one is full of great characters and centred around the family and the connections to that family. I look forward to more from Whiskey.

Books one of the new Whiskey and lies series by Carrie Ann Ryan.
Dare Collins comes from a big busy family that are always in your business life as well as personal life.
Dare mum and dad own the Whiskey inn that is part of the bar/restaurant that Dare owns.
Dare is shocked to find his mum and dad have hired a innkeeper so they can semi retire and have more of a personal life.
Kenzie has had a horrible divorce and wants a fresh start in new town Whiskey where she meets the Collins family and quickly realised she may have found home.
I love that it was all roses in Dare and Kenzie relationship. They just started as booty calls but more time spent together they realise they could be something serious but Kenzie past gets involved and Dare’s dead police partner wife pops up and open old wounds that even Dare didn’t realise he covered up.
Absolutely love this book and even though I’ve only read a couple of the Montgomery series I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything.

Dare and Kenzie's story was FANTASTIC! Their chemistry jumped off the page and their story kept me hooked from page 1. Kenzie was running from an ex and Dare is an ex cop. Their introduction was not easy, but their love was strong. This spin off of the Montgomery Ink series is fantastic and I can't wait to see Dare's siblings fall in love. Definitely recommend this book.

Dare and Kenzie have a hate/love work romance with the added spice.

Dare is the typical grumpy bartender and wants nothing to do with the allure of the new starter Kenzie. She'd everything he does not need in his life right now and she's also not wanting to throw any male testosterine into her life after moving towns to start anew. This definitely isn't a humour filled romance, there's a lot of serious moments and Dare plays the alpha role well but for a quick and steamy read this one hits the mark.

I loved how Dare's family made him see that he needed to make things better for the life of his son and be more around in his life even if the situation was difficult. What I missed was having his son around more, I definitely think he was an added bit to the story even though he was constantly mentioned but hardly ever seen.
