I enjoyed the narrator (Gregory Salinas) and the spice was good.

This author reminds me time and time again why I read romance. She just does it right every time. I like that she has tied another series to this one, although you do not need to read that one to understand this one. You will want to read it though.

Both main characters need this story. Both have led a heart ripping life and it's time for both of them to have a soul/heart mending.

3.5 Whiskey Secrets Stars

I really liked the characters Dare has that mysterious vibe to him, but also this huge protective streak you just want to know all his deep dark secrets.

I liked Kenzie and felt like she was just the woman to get to know all of Dare’s secrets only she has a few secrets of her own.
I very much enjoyed the fact that it was a bit of give and take and that the attraction was on both sides and no it wasn’t a love at first sight thank goodness for that.

I did feel like some of the story was a little predictable and that isn’t a bad thing just wished there had been a twist I hadn’t already read before.

I think the kids stole the show! I really like when an author brings kids into a book it makes it feel more authentic.

A character I want to know more about Locke!! Totally want to know more about this fellow.

I liked the narration it didn’t blow me away, there are narrators that make you feel a part of the story with their tones and inflection and there are narrators who just tell the story. Gregory is a tell the story in and out kind of deal to me. But that’s ok still enjoyable to listen to.

Give to me for an honest and fair review.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Romanceopoly 2023 square: The Bar

I found Kenzie and Dare both very interesting. They started out on the wrong foot and seemed to rub each other the wrong way. After some introspection and some interactions, they found that they didn't have a problem with each other. I liked that they set aside their initial opinions and learned about each other. I enjoyed that they helped each other to live in the now and enjoy the life they were experiencing. I also liked that they also wanted to talk about their feelings and finally did.

I loved this story!! The characters were phenomenal and definitely ones that I grew attached to very quickly. Dare is close to his family and will do anything for them. He has had some things happen to him that has caused his view of himself to be a little distorted. He doesn't really view himself worthy, even though he is. Kenzie is trying to figure out who she is now that she is out of her abusive relationship with her ex-husband. She is trying to take it one day at a time and rebuild her strength and a home for herself. Dare and Kenzie don't exactly get off on to the right foot but they realize that and try to get past that. I loved how they started building their relationship. The sex is explicit and not super frequent. It fits the story. I loved how it was all blended together. We get a lot of characterization which makes the story for me. I loved Dare and Kenzie along with the rest of the family. I can't wait to get the other 2 brothers' stories. I'm very excited.

I can’t say enough good things about this book! Carrie Ann Ryan did it again!! This is Dare and Kenzie’s story. Dare is an owner of two businesses that have been in his family for years. They live in a small town named Whiskey. He is Tabby’s older brother if you’ve read Montgomery Ink then your familiar with her. Kenzie is just moving to Whiskey to get away from a troubled past that she’s hoping to avoid at all costs and she hopes her new surroundings and new job will help her manage this.

Kenzie is hired as the new Innkeeper for Dare’s family who also run the hotel that is connected to the bar and restaurant owned by Dare. However his parents failed to tell him and the rest of his brothers and sister about their plans to retire and let’s just say Dare is not thrilled by the news or with Kenzie whom seems to be to uptight and stuck up for Dare. They butt heads right off the bat and more than once. Neither seem to like the other but secretly they both can’t keep from thinking of one another.

The chemistry is a magnetic pull between them and fate won’t let them escape so easily no matter what each of them try to avoid its clutches.

Loved the dedication at the beginning of the book! It was amazing and he will always be with you Carrie Ann and I’m sure he is proud of the finished book and always of you.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of Whiskey Secrets.
