Masterful as ever. Murakami captures the essence of real events and relays them with such artistry that the most mundane of occurrences are fantastical tales in his books.

I truly enjoyed these stories and Murakami's writing style—it was definitely something unique and refreshing for me. Each story is different and complex in its own way, making the collection captivating. I feel certain that I’ll revisit them in a few years to experience them all over again.
The first story in this collection, 'The Second Bakery Attack' is an excellently bizarre story that I would love to read again. The 4 other stories, however, reminded me why I DNFed Kafka on the Shore.

A collection of 5 very odd short stories by Murakami. The one that stood out to me was Birthday Girl.
