Good collection of Murakami's short stories. I enjoyed after the quake more, but "a prehistory of late-stage capitalism" and "the second Baker attack" we're incredible in this. The loose theme of desire connected stories such as a young couple robbing a McDonald's or a man passing a perfect girl on the street and made this collection particularly interesting. "When it was all over, the king and his retainers burst out laughing".

This was my first book by Murakami and if you're thinking about giving him a try, I think this is a good way to start.

I really liked the author's style, even though I found it kind of hard at first. This book includes five shot stories about love, lust, desire...

The first one was my least favorite, I thought this author wasn't for me. To me, it leaked of meaning, it was like... so random. I don't know, I didn't understand it.

But the rest were fine. The one about the girl who believes in magic was probably my favorite. Followed by the one inspired in Kafka. I liked the story better this way, better than the original one.

Easy and fast to read, I recommend it if you want to try something different but don't have much time.
