I had a much more enjoyable time with this collection than I was expecting. I like Murakami's writing style (which I was not expecting), and got absolutely sucked into the little world's he created in each and every story. The absolute stand out for me is 'Samsa in Love' - I think it's one of the most charming, beguiling, mysterious, addicting short stories I have ever read. I reckon I'll think about this one (and the others) often and want to revisit them.

A collection of five short stories by Haruki Murakami. These short works are vaguely bound by the theme of desire and, with the exception of the last story, were not terribly interesting. I think readers are better off reading the original works these short stories come from. They are more complete and contain a greater variety of Murakami's writings and styles.
