Concrete Island is an interesting, post-modern spin on Robinson Crusoe, but was a bit too dry for my taste.

The concept was promising, the execution lacking. You're not going to get more detail from me--I'm not the Sunday Times.

It was unusual. I get the impression that Ballard's books are often unusual in sort of the same way, but I couldn't say yet. It was also just the right length, which here means "pretty short." I liked it enough to recommend it and next up I'm going to read another of his short books, so: okay!
