I really like this book a lot. There are a couple minor things holding it back for me (some of the art is confusing and I’m trying to make sense of all the cameos at the end), but I loved the writing. It’s really dark, but also intriguing and poetic. Felt like the tone of the Logan film or Sandman. Going to continue with this series for sure.

This was fine. I’m not a ghost rider Super Fan, nor am I that into horror, so I think a lot of what is cool about this one I was ambivalent towards. It wasn’t bad, though. Hell attempts to. Brainwash Johnny, failing that his, what? partnership? with the Ghost Rider is fractured, and he embarks on careening from one horrific adventure to the next, invariably ending with the rider taking him over and him waking up someplace new.

The ending was… weird though, and knocked it down a peg. There’s a competition where the prize is an audience with the devil, and a random assortment of heroes are there to race with/against Johnny. A little too gonzo for me.

It’s times like these when I remember why I’ve largely given up on reading superhero comics. This is in the same vein as “The Immortal Hulk”, which is in the vein of the New 52 Swamp Thing and Animal Man reboots, which are in turn imitations of 1990s Vertigo comics. Anyway, this is full of overwrought narration and “edgy” visuals (read as: watered down versions of “Faust” type stuff from thirty years ago), and in classic Marvel fashion no one is allowed to say any swear words despite all the depictions of blood and goop. I can’t exactly say I had a bad time, though. The arc ends with a Wacky Races motorcycle rally filled with a bunch of random Marvel people! This takes itself way too seriously to have fun with that concept, but I can’t help but appreciate that silly stuff like that still makes it to print these days.

A pretty damn good body horror volume. The first 3 issue in particular are very good. Issue 4 solid too. Issue 5 a bit to weird, having bunch of superheroes join Ghost Rider in a race seemed, corny, to be honest. Saying that, it's still an enjoyable read, plenty of nasty moments, and a nice reboot in a way to the Ghost Rider Name.

A 3 out of 5.

A solid start to the new Ghost Rider arc. I'd love it more if it weren't for its episodic nature. Still, the writing was solid and I'm plesantly surprised by how bold creators were with body-horror. And yes, there's VENGEANCE.
