The pacing for this book was insane and not in a good way. I understand not wanting to be overly detailed but it seemed like we were in a different place with every single paragraph within every single chapter. They’d be in someone’s room one paragraph and then they were at the restaurant, or on a hike, or working out with no steps shown in between - like how did we get there? It started really strong but the transitions became non-existent. I may have never read Meet Me at the Lake, which was amazing, if I had read this first. And um…Charlie is a creep. I’m assuming he gets a redemption arc in One Golden Summer but he’s gross.

Real rating would be 4.5. An audio book-pretty sure Greer reccd this. I enjoyed another book from same author a few months back. It had me guessing until the very end- the way it jumped back and forth between timelines worked extremely well to keep reader on their toes. I even shed a few tears (I love an emotional read). Also was so stunned that the main character got it on with her main love interest’s brother! If I was being picky I’d say I wish the sex scenes were more explicit but that’s just me. The thing about romance novels in particular is they feed into my own delulu thoughts 🤷‍♀️ 😏 with their happy endings after periods of hard times.
