The storytelling and writing style reminds me a lot of Emily Henry - an easy read with a fun setting but never lacking in emotion or depth. The chemistry between Sam and Percy is electric and can really be felt through the screen. The plot and dialogue feels very organic - I could easily imagine this happening in real life. But it did seem overly drawn out, with not much progress in either timeline for long stretches.
The scene is very atmospheric, and the characters are memorable, likable, and well-developed, which is not an easy feat. This is an incredibly riveting debut, and I will not be forgetting the summers at the lake any time soon.

the last little chunk of the book had my mouth on the floor almost the whole time. it was a real treat to watch them fall in love not only once but twice. i love second chances.. anddd all was going the summer i turned pretty vibes… and i was here for it!
