i saw potential with this book but the plot twist, confrontation, and ending felt so rushed and a little unrealistic? it felt like Percy really fcked Sam over and he was so quick to forgive her and try to make her feel better like what he did was as bad as what she did :/

The writing was fantastic, but I the twist is outside the bounds of most romance premises. It wasn’t a feel good ending. Part of me was expecting to find out this was Charlie’s love story… I don’t see how Sam could’ve recovered his relationship with Persephone, even after having years to forgive, without destroying his relationship with his brother. There was still hurt just beneath the surface when Persephone came clean. I am surprised there wasn’t more animosity between Sam and Charlie when Charlie picked on him about Persephone as adults. Charlie had so much judgement for how Sam chose to approach his relationship with Persephone, even though he gladly participated in the catalyst for their end.

I only rated this down half a star because I wish I would have read it before I read my other Carley Fortune book.

She's a perfect summer or beach read author for me.

I think this book will forever be one of my favorites. Carley’s ability to remind me exactly what it felt like to fall in love at 15 is *chefs kiss.*

I really loved this one. My heart was literally beating so hard reading it. I thought it was a really lovely read, and so great to read at a cottage in northern Ontario. Carley really nailed this one, I couldn’t stop talking about it all weekend.
