3.75, this felt like a more mature, Canadian version of The Summer I Turned Pretty. I loved this book up until the “twist” near the end which I did not see coming nor enjoy. Regardless I liked the characters and it does the job of being a fun little summer romance book!

I gave Every Summer After 5 stars because it gave me all the nostalgic, emotional, summertime feels I didn’t know I needed. This book felt like a warm hug and a punch to the gut at the same time. It’s one of those stories that pulls you in with the soft, cozy lake town setting, and then keeps you there with all the tension, heartbreak, and love.
The timeline goes back and forth between past and present, and it’s done so well. You get to watch this relationship build from the ground up while also seeing where things went wrong. It’s messy in the most human way, and I loved that. The characters felt real, flawed, emotional, and trying their best, and I was rooting for them the entire time.
It’s beautifully written, easy to binge, and leaves a little ache in your heart in the best way.

This might just be the BEST summer romance book I’ve ever read. I absolutely love the friends-to-lovers trope, and this story hit all the right notes for me. In some ways, it even felt like the book was telling my own story.

The characters were amazing. the Florek brothers are total green flags, each with their own charm, and I loved the main character as well. The whole thing was such a page-turner. I originally wanted to pace myself and save it until the series comes out, but honestly, I just couldn’t put it down. I finished it way too fast, and now I’m stuck waiting who knows how long for the show to finally air.

Such a good read! Carley Fortune has officially become one of my favorite authors, and I already know I’m going to buy all her books. PERIOD.

Ugh!!! The most perfect read/listen for the summer! I loved all of the different characters in this book. It def gave TSIP, but more adult. I enjoyed getting the perspective of then and now with the twist of what really happened back in the day. I need a summer lake house immediately.

Such a cute story with a cute ending!
