Boring, uneventful, and mundane. Literally just a lady alone talking about the chores she has to do. Nothing insightful about this read, unfortunately.

  • somewhat long winded and very slow, but such an eye-opening reflection on life and being human and loneliness and especially loss
  • the deaths
in the book are hinted at long before the events come, so nothing is a shock, it just leaves you in a state of mild dread which feels similar to the character’s emotional state

Not sure if it’s a reflection on me but I found it hard to spend time with the solitary character in this post apocalyptic world. I loved “I who have never known men” though so maybe it’s just that this story didn’t progress enough for me.

Absolute drivel. One of the worst, most boring books I’ve ever read. If you want to read 175 pages of an unrelatable moron playing house in the woods, written by someone who has no idea about spending time alone in the woods, then this is the book for you!

Okay this might be one of my fav books of all time. WOW. Everything is so beautiful. Descriptions of feeling stifled as a woman. Isolation. Feeling at peace with being alone. Finding freedom and purpose. And like the relationships with animals and nature. Chef’s kiss. I would recommend this to any woman who enjoys more “literary” fiction. I might recommend to my bf but idk if it’s something many men would be into?? But I think that’s why I liked it so much lol
