The only time a girl really gets a chance to be alone is at the end of the world.

To me, a perfect book.

“I knew I couldn’t go on like this, but I’d never been capable of simply nipping anxiety in the bud. I always had to wait until it was ripe and mature and fell from me.”

Made me feel loved and warm and alone and aching. Similar to I who have never known men, in that it's supernatural but that somehow isn't really relevant. The monster isn't the wall, it's human loneliness. I was not expecting it to be so feminist and I've never highlighted so many passages of a book before. I feel seen in a kind of primal ugly womanhood that often isn't represented, the agony of care and love. I would recommend again and again

Tonight I shall end my report.

Read the first 20% and skimmed. More and more of the same and I just didn’t care.
