It's possible that I liked this one even better than the first Heartstopper graphic novel. Charlie and Nick's relationship is heartwarming; I love them together. You really get that first love vibe - the young and innocent love that is all-consuming.
I still didn't like how Charlie's friend seemed to be actively trying to keep them apart, although we later find out that it is just because he's worried that Charlie's feelings won't be reciprocated and he will end up getting hurt. It also seemed unrealistic that as soon as Charlie told him that wasn't the case because he and Nick were actually together, that his friend just dropped it and they automatically included Nick into their friend group. It seemed rushed.
Nick's mom being accepting of him right away - which was probably due to her already being somewhat suspicious of his feelings for Charlie - was refreshing. Sometimes it's nice to see LGBTQ+ characters not have to face every single obstacle before they can be happy.
Overall, I just really like this series. I'm excited to read volumes 3 and 4, and am thinking of buying actual copies of the series.

This book was somehow even BETTER than the first. ALL the gay feelings throughout this whole volume but especially the theme of not coming out until you’re READY. It wasn’t vilified and made as secretive and bad but supported and wow again this would’ve meant so much to me when I was a kid. Also PARENTS REACTING POSITIVELY TO COMING OUT!!! CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THIS CONTENT!!!
