Wow!! This series just gets better and better as the stories come out! I love Apollo and Isla's (Maddie) story! They found happiness even in tragedy! Happy endings with hot Alphas is always a great story!

I know I've said it before but, I'll say it again. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY knows how to do supercool badass alpha heroes like Kristen Ashley. This book was another perfect example.
Loved, LOVED LOVED IT!!!!!
Loved, LOVED LOVED IT!!!!!
4 Stars
Really enjoyed how the whole series was wrapped up in this book, but the story between Apollo and Ilsa was as epic as the others. Not saying that is wasn’t still fun to read, but I felt like I was just ready for the conclusion of it all.
Love that Ilsa was able to escape a bad situation in her world, but felt that Apollo was somewhat selfish in excepting her to just jump into the spot that his wife left with her death. Not only was there the pressure from her having to overcome being with a man that looks identical to her abusive ex, but he wants her to jump into the role of wife and mom. Eventual they figure things out and their story is really lovely in the end, just wish their relationship had been stronger in the beginning.

This was a delicate book with a delicate rating. I liked it and i almost didn't however towards the end it picked up and i enjoyed it.
Another FABULOUS book in the Fantasyland series. I do have to say that this may be one of the only series ever written where ALL the books are so great and so loveable. I loved every book in this series and have come to the conclusion that this may be my favourite romance series...ever!! Although this book felt like a finale, I am glad to hear that there will be a fifth book...YAY!!!! I can't seem to get enough of Kristen Ashley and in particular the Fantasyland series.
Broken Dove was an epic fourth book with a great cast of humorous, intriguing characters who where all so fun to read about. Apollo and Maddie where so different from the previous characters in the series and they seemed much more mature and wise. Maddie was witty and smart which made her fun and enjoyable go read about. Apollo seemed to be the polar opposite of Maddie as he was deep and dark but equally intriguing to read about. I loved the pace of the book more than anything because it was realistic and dealt with the heartache of the characters with compassion. There was no Insta-love which was another great pro and even relationships between minor characters developed at a good, realistic pace.
All in all, Broken Dove was an epic story with heartache, love and friendship bound together in a super fun world. I applaud Kristen Ashley for writing another awesome book! I highly recommend this series and would go further to say I highly recommend all of Kristen Ashley books that I've read so far.

Can we please give Miss Ashley a round of applause!
I am SO glad that she has returned with this writing style. Her books that she released before this were short and not so detailed. Although they were still good this book was AWESOME! I mean it was detailed, it had emotion and it kept you intrigued throughout the whole book.
Apollo and Maddie's relationship was a whirlwind. At times I wanted to laugh, scream, cry and shout. And to be quite honest I did do most of those things haha.
Not going to lie though at the start Apollo was a bit of an ass but he redeemed himself and although I find most of KA's alpha's really hot. Apollo is in my top 10 without a doubt. I think it's the Old English talk. Got me a bit hot and bothered ;)
I loved how we saw all if the main girls in this book united and *cough cough* PREGNANT! AT THE SAME TIME! I thought that was so lovely.
Maddie was refreshing to read, she made me feel everything that she was going through and when Apollo was talking to Christophe in the snow I started bawling. It was an emotional moment. There are too many moments in this when I FELT something. OH! & Apollo's proposal! That DEFINITELY deserves a round of applause!
I LOVE this series! It's nice to get away from "our world" and imagine something different.
I applaud you KA! :)

4.5 stars for this one. It was so great, I had a few issues with the relationship but overall it was a great book! Can't wait for the next one!
Nothing to say other than despite a couple of things I don't like I love this, as expected.
I really want a Loretta x Hans scene, and Meeta x Ruben too.
And can I just say Alyssa Drakkar is a kickass name?
Spoiler
my god Apollo can be such a jackass! and the fight scene in the end seems kind of muddled and a bit confusing. and also all the ladies pregnant at the same time? reeeeeeally?I really want a Loretta x Hans scene, and Meeta x Ruben too.

Broken Dove is the fourth installment in the "Fantasyland" series by Kristen Ashley. Whew .,....this was a LONG book but a satisfying romance that curled my toes from beginning to end. I think this is the longest book I have read from this author but I had a blast. I switched from listening and reading this one, and BOTH versions are superb. The narrator chosen for this was fantastic, so if you love audiobooks, definitely check this one out, I promise you won't be disappointed. There is so much to pack here and so many things I love and some things I struggled with at times.
Our story starts off, with our heroine Madeline (Maddie) who in our universe, is on the run from her husband who is abusive, controlling, and a drug dealer and a powerful man. And for years she has been on her own, trying to find her own peace. But now he has found her again. But right when she thinks all is lost for her, a man who looks somewhat like her husband but isn't.....with a sword and cape comes in and saves her and whisks her away to his parallel world of magic, mystery and danger. Apollo lost his wife (a look alike of Maddie) and she left behind two children he has been raising on his own. When he hears that his late wife's twin from the other world's life is in danger, he does everything he can to save her and bring her to his world to protect her. Apollo isn't exactly sure what his plans are concerning Maddie, only knowing he has this driving need to protect her. Their relationship starts out rocky, but both Maddie and Apollo find common ground, and a love so strong no force can break their bond. But they will be both tested, but along the way they build a family of love, unity and courage...
WHOZAH!! This book completely blew me away in many ways and I have to say I was really hoping I could give this a five star, but unfortunately, I am unable to do so. The first third of the book was a bit slow at times, which does happen with some of these fantasy books from Ashley. I am not sure if its just me, but I seem to struggle getting into them for some reason and I LOVE fantasy so its odd. But oh well, I still fall in love with these stories and "Broken Dove" is no different. I truly adored seeing Apollo and Maddie find their path in this book and it definitely had many rocky moments especially in the beginning. This book is a roller coaster though and takes the reader on quite an adventure.
Some time ago, a man filled with sorrow handed me a bag filled with hope. Those stones were in that bag. He knew, as I knew and now you know, even as he paid for the chance to have it again that love is priceless, love is worth every battle fought, every wound endured. He knew, as you now know, ma colombe, that love is everything.
Both Apollo and Maddie are such strong-willed characters and so its natural for those type of personalities to clash. They are also complete opposites from each other and so different and so we see them trying to work through their differences and that is what made their relationship truly sing in so many ways. We see them not only struggle in their relationship but also build something with Apollo's two children. Its definitely not an easy road for either of them, but they find their ways to work through the challenges that come their way and conquer them.
Love like you build with Miss Madeleine is as she is. It is not of this world. Not of her world. It is beyond the worlds. It is beyond anything
Overall I found "Broken Dove" to be a stellar ride of a romance, that gives the reader a heartfelt tale of epic adventure, barrels of laughs and delights and a sensual love story to keep you enthralled!!

This one was going to be an interesting read due to the nature that the hero (H) Apollo lost the "love of his life" and is aware of the different worlds and that they have twins. He's purpose in bringing Ilsa from our world to his is to basically "get back" (I don't want to use the replace, but it comes across that way from the previous books) what he has lost and hoping it will be the same. We, the readers, KNOW that there are vast differences between the "twins" from each world. Knowing both of these things, I wondered how things would "work out" between the Hero and heroine. Part of this is trusting the author and I so totally trust Kristen Ashley! She doesn't disappoint and her writing style is one that captures the readers' attention and makes them want more.
Both the Hero and heroine grow as characters throughout the entire story. As we have seen Apollo and gotten to know a bit about him in the previous books, I really enjoyed that we got to know Ilsa from our world at the beginning and the "how" we got to get to her know. This also established that she was very different from what everyone knew of the other Ilsa. It's also done respectfully for both the Ilsa of that world and ours.
This is the only story where one of the twins has died, everyone knows and now we have a spitting image of her in the new Ilsa. However, with that said, there are several slight differences between the women's appearances and the story to explain to the similarity is a good one.
BROKEN DOVE was a bit of a slow burn until some meddling occurs and things begin to move at a faster pace. Maddie (as the Ilsa of our world is now known as) gets to know the Apollo of the other world and come to terms that they are not the same person.
The overall danger we learned about in the previous books, continues in this story and helps the plot move forward. There are struggles and emotional moments where Maddie is conflicted about how things are progressing and Apollo's true feelings for her (i.e. I'm not HER! I'm not your dead wife - like any woman would, right?). There is a situation where Apollo's reaction is seen as very harsh and even a tad over the top, especially him knowing of Maddie's past with abusive males. Yet, Kristen, the author, uses every moment, every event, every word to grow the characters and move the story along.
The Narrator's Review:
The wait to ensure Tillie Hooper was available and had sufficient time to narrate the remaining books in the series was right on! Totally worth it! She brings life to characters you will fall for. Providing each character with their own tones, voices, accents, etc. When characters from previous books appear, you will recognize them easily.
Overall, this was a great "ending" to the series and overarching arch of the story. Things were tied up nicely and we all got to see what has been "up" with all the previous couples. Things were not solved too easily nor were there any things left open/unexplained. The good news is that we still have one more story and its about people we all have been curious about!
