This was a reread for me, I read this book about 8 years ago. I loved this back then and once again, I have to say this is a masterpiece. Very disturbing, brutal and honest, an eye-opening must read. One of those literary pieces that manage to say so much in just about 100 pages. A classic for a good reason.

George Orwell’s classic “Animal Farm” started out as a satirical fable for the pro-Stalin movement post WWII, but remains a stirring reminder of what happens when people blindly give power and their freedom to those who misuse it. Almost 80 years later, Animal Farm remains as relevant as it was on the day it was first published.  Beautifully written, it remains a classic.

Animal Farm is a classic novel that is both enjoyable and accessible.

The story follows a group of farm animals that overthrow their human leadership. We then follow their decent from idillic communism to a harrowing dictatorship.

The themes of the book are thought provoking and despite the length of the book are explored in detail. This is a brilliant book for anyone that wants to get into classics, or that enjoys dystopian fiction.

In these dark times, this book feels far too close to home. Definitely worth the read.

"The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which."

In my quest to read more banned books, I picked up this one. The saying that history will always repeat itself continues to ring true. As long as we continue to stay silent and give in to corruption and tyranny, we will never be free. The way this book starts and ends with them being in the same position rings true to that very thing.
