I personally really enjoyed 1984, and figured I'd read Animal Farm as well. I liked the book well enough, I think the topics it brings attention to absolutely need to be talked/read about (especially in the current day, as an American!), but I did find myself putting it down quite a few times out of boredom. Although it is rather fast paced, it did not have the same captivating wording that 1984 had, but rather simple sentences (for about as simple as George Orwell can get)
I do think that it deserves to be as widely appreciated as it is, but I'd recommend someone 1984 before I'd recommend Animal Farm.

“Man serves the interests of no other creature except himself.”

I read this book in high school and enjoyed it. This is my 1st time rereading this as an adult & it’s still enjoyable but from a mature understanding of Orwell’s central messages.
The last line is iconic.
I am not a dystopian fan but from the perspective of animals made this a fun read compared to Orwell’s “1984”.
I can see why it is a classic & don’t agree with it being a “Banned Book.”

I watched the original film adaption from 1954 & the style reminded me of a few classic Disney films.
I don’t think I’ll watch the other renditions but it’s worth the watch post read.

I recommend this book for dystopian lovers, people reading through banned books or someone who doesn’t mind reading a classic.

First time I’d read this since school, so it’s been about 8 years. It was such a great read. The allegorical elements are a bit thicker/blatant than I remembered but that isn’t a complaint. It’s clever, well written. Not much more to say. There’s a reason it’s a classic. One all should read.

I loved this book.. but also hated how accurate this was. I hated how I could make connections between this story and real life, it constantly made me uncomfortable in a sense where it  literally made me like, “wow this is so sad” and “this is happening to this day”
It made me so mad that Benjamin could read this entire time and let everything happen, didn’t spread the message or anything. RIP boxer and everyone.
The fact that I could still see this theme in real life is absolutely terrifying, especially in this era even though this book was written decades ago, before I was even born. Screw Napoleon, especially Squealer, and every pig!!

Dang, this book was tiny and I wasn't expecting much, but I was so pleasantly surprised. It was an incredible read.

Animal Farm is once again more relevant than ever in this geopolitical climate. Orwell writes with such precision and stays away from unnecessarily long-winded sentences, making this book accessible for a broader audience. It is a heartbreaking story and instantly recognizable.
