As James Patterson books go, Private has been my least favorite series. That doesn't mean that I do not enjoy them. On the contrary, readers of my blog know that my least favorite Patterson book is still among my favorite titles. But, I digress. Private Games was not like the other Private novels I have read. Jack was not a featured main character, although he certainly makes an appearance. This time we find ourselves in London for the summer Olympics. This book was fantastic, full of high energy and villains who are real enough to scare you. It was James at his best, for sure. It also brought in Greek mythology and that feel-proud-of-humanity Olympic spirit, so what's not to love? My only complaint about this book, it ended. Honestly, it was perfect from start to finish and I highly recommend it even for those among you who (gasp, be still my heart) may not be fans of James Patterson. He went outside his norm here, and scored the gold.

*SPOILER ALERT*

Good read the ending I thought was a tad ridiculous and a little over the top with the lightning bolt straight from zeus himself. Even with an ending like this I am still looking forward to the next in his series.

Wow. This book was SO GREAT!!! Best James Patterson book I've ever read! I don't know how he's gonna be able to top this one because it was epic. The storyline & setting was great, the action was even better than most action movies, and the characters were awesome too! And the plot twist took me by surprise - I totally didn't see it coming! This was a page turner for sure. I highly recommend this book! It was so exciting and the author does a great job at painting a vivid picture in your mind without getting overly descriptive. The ending was satisfying too.

DNF

Psycho trying to end the Olympics, a bit offbeat, but as usual for Patterson written for someone with a middle school reading level about not middle school stuff

I read James Patterson to remind myself that I can do this too, and I hope a tad bit better. Patterson books are always a fun read, and this was one per usual, though the final boss battle scene ended in such a comical way that I literally laughed out loud.

did not care for most of this book. picked up enough toward the end that i liked it ok.

He's done it again! Patterson grabs me from the first sentence and doesn't let me go until the last. I never would have guessed the ending of this book and even as I finished it I couldn't believe it!!

This might be my favorite of all the Private novels. Nigel is a better protagonist, in my opinion, than Jack, and I love that his (adorable) children are always a focus of his, rather than other Private series protagonists who are always focused on romance or lust. Plus, the added bits about the Olympic Games were fun, and a better setting I think than random cities throughout the world.
