I haven't really read many other stories about shifters or werewolves, but this was entertaining. I'm looking forward to reading the next book of the series.

I have been provided with a copy of Shadow Sentinels: Beginnings by the author for an impartial review. This is the first book in the brand-new Shadow Sentinels series and this was just a great way to start off a new series. I was just drawn in and I just couldn’t get enough of these amazing characters. I just had so much fun with them and I just immediately wanted more after turning the last page. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

It wasn’t horrible. But some of the way they talked about their inner wolves was WEIRD af. Connor is hot— and Ember was kind of meh. I didn’t really feel like they deserved each other. There were a lot of British colloquialisms thrown in with Americanisms (which was warned about in the foreword but the combination was still weird

This is a fast paced and action packed start to the series! Ember is a fierce female wolf shifter but there’s more to her than meets the eye. Connor is a sexy as hell male wolf shifter who drives Ember crazy and just might be her mate. Sparks fly between them but then he disappears and a terrible chain of events leads to them caught in a sinister plot. This book has plenty of drama, action, and romance, as well as bloody battles and lots of alphas. I really liked the characters and I can’t wait to read the next book!

I received an ARC from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I devoured this book in one sitting, staying up way too late on a school night because I needed to get to the end.
The story drew me in right from the start, and Connor and his smirking won me over immediately - I'm a sucker for cocky alphahole! Ember is fabulous. She's not your typical shifter heroine and doesn't need to rely on any one else for help, she's a genuine badass in her own right.
I liked the that although our MCs are mates in waiting, there was no insta love or simpering at each other. They fought the bond, for different reasons and I'm looking forward to seeing it play out in future novels.
There was plenty of heartache too so it's not an easy ride, but it is non stop action pretty much from the get go.
If you like sassy, independent heroines and grumpy super hot overprotective alpha males, then you'll love this book!

I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
