Promise Me Not

Meagan Brandy

3.55 AVERAGE

Love, love, Loved!!!

After reading this blurb I was so eager to get my hands on this book. This is one of my favorite tropes to read. This story has some fan favorite characters from Meagan’s previous novels so it was a treat to see them again.

I think I can safely say that after reading this, Mason will be your new book boyfriend…maybe husband!?!?! His love for Payton was just so fierce I had to read this in one sitting. There’s definitely some push and pull there but just enjoy the ride. The first chapter is going to hook you so just be prepared. Mason and Deaton…together…SWOON. And Payton, this girl endured so much and overcame every hurdle she faced. It was admirable. You really root for her happily ever after during this book. I have so much more to say, but I’ll leave it at that so that I don’t venture into spoiler territory.

Final words: this is for sure a must-read

3/5

I really wanted to like this book, but it fell flat for me. The entire thing was angst and miscommunication.
Those are two tropes that I just can’t get into. I kept thinking it would get better or something, but it just never did.

Basically, this is a book about a boy who fell in love with a girl and a girl who is too scared of her past to let him in fully.

soooooo i’m dnfing this book too. apparently i dnf the first one at 45%, this one at 40%. i don’t think this is for me in any way. bye now

i'm not satiated. i needed more, much more.

3.75 out of 5 stars- jumped back and forth between past and present, happy with ending but kind of cheesy. No as good as Say You Swear (1st book)

Promise Me Not is a must-read for anyone who loves angsty, heart-pounding romance. The chemistry between the characters is intense, and their journey from brokenness to healing is an emotional whirlwind that keeps you hooked.

Brandy again nails the swoon-worthy moments of the MMC, and the tension is so thick, you’ll feel every emotion right alongside the characters. There is definite slow burn and those little glimpses of vulnerability had me rooting for the couple through all their ups and downs. I had to remind myself that the miscommunication trope was mainly due to their young age.

While the pacing could have been a bit smoother in some parts, the gripping story and all the emotional twists made up for it. If you’re into stories with a lot of heart, deep connections, and angst, Promise Me Not deserves a spot on your TBR!

review

the love story was heart warming but i didn’t like the back in forth in the time line. i felt like i got lost sometimes and i wasn’t in tuned with the story.
emotional hopeful inspiring lighthearted tense fast-paced

Um livro muito bonito com uma historia profunta de reconstrução do eu depois do luto. Amor infinito e medo de amar de novo.
