Such a slow slow boring book. Could've just read the last 5 chapters to get the whole concept of story. The other 30 odd chapters were no needed. A real disappointment after reading the first book in the series.

Not even 8am and I’ve gone through all five stages of grief. I’m so emotional what the hell??

3.2 ⭐️ I felt like I was obligated to read this because some part of me will not allow me to not finish a series once i start. I was a bit confused in the beginning of this book and can truly say i didn’t enjoy the flipping back and forth between past and present. I also can say for sure that I do not enjoy the trope of “giving up someone you love for their own good”. like what. it never works out and you just end up hurting them. also don’t love a pregnancy trope. I also thought the end was very rushed and the spice only at the end felt very misplaced. So let’s just say that this book was set up to fair from the beginning. There were a few redeeming aspects, like Mason is literally the best guy on the planet. I also can say that I was a bit hooked and wanted to know how it ended. yeah that’s about it

Did I love this as much as Say You Swear? No
Was the story good? Yes

The story was predictable. For anyone that read defenseless hearts the storyline was somewhat obvious, so many that took away from my enjoyment. But I think the difference was the characters were complete opposites of each other. So I guess Noah and Ari just connected more with me.

However, as far as second chance romances go this was wonderful and I will continue to binge Meagan Brandy books.
