I would have to say I felt bad for Payton, she went through so much. Having a horrible mother, losing the love of her life / father of her unborn child, she had it bad. But her pushing Mason away when he wants nothing more to be with her and the father of her son. She got on my nerves.
She kept pushing him away just because she was in fear of losing him like she lost Deaton. So annoying but finally after reading basically the entire book she realized what she was doing and stopped.
But it was still an okay read that I was able to get through it. Bless Mason’s heart for dealing with her.

This physically pains me to write a bad review for this book because “Say You Swear” was and still is EVERYTHING to me, but this book was just not it! Idk what was up with the writing but it felt like it dragged on and got me no where. The inner monologues were just weird and random, the back and forth between then and now was so confusing and sometimes too long that by the time I got back to the now, I had forgotten what happened! And the lack of communication between Payton and Mason was actually infuriating! Like…I get it. She went through something no one, least of all a 17 year old should go through so she has every write to grieve and cope how she wants, but at the same time…she did Mason so wrong with how she could not communicate. He wasn’t any better really..he was pushy without being pushy and just cringy at times. Ugh. I hate myself for not loving this book!!! lol
Very disappointed in this book. Felt like it was disorganized and hard to follow and I couldn’t figure out what was happening for the first couple of chapters of the book. Say you swear was an amazing book, so I had high hopes for the sequel and it just didn’t hit for me :/

Not as fabulous as Say you swear BUT I did cry!! It takes a lot for me to cry at a book ( if it is human related because animals I ball )
Anyways …. This picked up on Payton and Masons story and the battle Payton struggles with being a young single mom , dealing with the death of her child’s father and learning to love again. Mason is going through all the emotions and trying to be patient …. Read to find out how their relationship develops

Honestly quite disappointing when compared to SYS ! For over 80% of the book it's leading up to a moment that was quite uneventful and the resolution was quick too! There's slow burn and there's repeating the same thing for a whole book with little progression ! Love the world and the characters so was frustrated with this book !
3.5⭐️ the burn felt slow at times but the ending had me bawling and laughing
