I had such high hopes for this book after reading (and loving) Say You Swear. But in all honesty, it fell sort of flat for me. While I liked the plot idea and the complex characters, the book's pacing felt rushed in the last quarter compared to the others. I also couldn't get past the overly-used nickname. I'm still looking forward to more books in the series, just disappointed I couldn't connect with this one as much as the first.

This book has dual pov's and is told through past and present storylines. However, it did get a little tricky for me at times though. Still worth it though.

What I loved most about this book was Mason’s unconditional love for Deaton. The moments they share melted my heart. 😍

So bummed about this, but I just can’t get into it.
I loved say you swear so so much. I’ve been so excited for this one.
But the characters are annoying me so much.
Maybe I’ll try again at another time, but for now, DNF.
