It’s been a long time since I’ve been so frustrated with a book! The constant intentional lack of communication and the ongoing back and forth got old real quick. I normally don’t like time shifts in books because it pulls you from the story and this is a perfect example of why it’s so annoying. Between the flashbacks, current timeline and alternating POVs, it was hard to stay present. There was hardly any character development and it’s as if Payton had an epiphany 90% of the way through the book and immediately changed her behavior. So disappointing, especially because I loved Say You Swear but this was not the follow up I was hoping for
