MMC was a grade-A asshole. Also had inconsistencies (like FMC recognizing the ex one scene then not another) which were a bit confusing. The subterfuge plot was meh.
dumbest stupidest shit for plot and most of the character dialogue but the spice was consistent

The book is only getting this high of a rating cause it made me laugh. Emily and Jameson bickering 24/7 angered me on another level.

4.7 ⭐️ It was a really entertaining book and I loved the chemistry from the beginning. Didn‘t like how only she had to do the groveling. I liked both of the characters and also their relationship.
3.75*
I didn’t realise how long I was reading this for. Definitley not because I couldn’t get into the book, but simply being a parent and finding the time.
Overall I really enjoyed this book. The level of ‘smut’ was perfect and I loved the dominant billionaire CEO aspect of it. I found myself laughing out loud at certain parts, especially when they go camping and could envision it happening in front of me.
The only reason not given this 5* is because there were certain details missed such as when the case suddenly got solved and was due to a woman we heard of the chapter before. But then their breakup went on for ages. Other than that I thought the book was perfect and an intrigued as to what the other books in the series are like, but I don’t think they are something I’ll rush to pick up.
I do understand that this isn’t for everyone especially as their relationship is so sex heavy and up and down and focuses a lot on them being from ‘different worlds’, but that is something I enjoyed as a lot of couples relate to arguing about things that don’t matter in the long run like his masseuse!

first part was really working for me. like i loved it but then. he called her bitch??? i hate that & i feel like i missed parts bc time jumps were annoying/ confusing like timeline was waaaay to fast. wym youve been in nyc for barely a month and you love each other??? wym you went on one date and move in together?? proposal after like 3 dates??? hes kinda an ick/ red flag irl but whatever (like his attitude and he moves waaaay to fast). a bit petty but they live in new york and they go by bus a lot??? wouldnt the underground be more logical?? also his name is JAMESON??? iew what kinda name is that?? also FUCK BUNNY IS NOT A CUTE NICKNAME OMG yikes btw on the ending so that gabriel ferrera guy was just a normal asshole?? and wasnt behind any of it?? why did he lie?? why did the main guy say i know you are trying this?? when he didnt?? was it like a red herring but a very bad one?? why did he then get hit?? huh??? am i dumb or was this just not thought out?? i think the latter!!
