I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This was a phenomenal enemies to lovers romance. It was the first book in the series that I have read and I hadn’t even finished it before I went online and bought the rest of the series. Jonas and Jamie had such amazing chemistry and I loved the way they brought out the best in each other. I can’t wait to go back and read the other books in the series.

I have now also listened to the audiobook version and I still love this so much. The narrators did a fantastic job.

the amount of serious reviews for this insta love curvy girl KU hockey novella made it a choice for my romance book club but holey moley, no.

uneven and not fun even in a ridiculous way.

This series is one of my favorites! If you love hockey romance and over the top men, you’ll love this- esp Jonas and his mouth. I’m so glad we finally got Jonas and Jamie’s story. The tension between them was so great. Jamie is supposed to be the enemy as she’s a gossip reporter yet Jonas can’t seem to keep her out of his mind. Meanwhile, Jamie feels the same way about Jonas..what happens when they meet in an unexpected place? Will Jamie spill Jonas secrets or keep them as her own? Do they dare cross those lines?

While sweet, this insta-love story was too simple for me. There was very little conflict, so if you like your angst level ultra-light, you may get more mileage out of this than I did. The spicy scenes felt flat and unappealing. I think that’s more my response to the author’s writing style and the first person POV than it is a technical issue.

If you want a light, quick read with very little angst, you might enjoy this. And while I wasn’t super enthused about it in the end myself, it did hold my interest enough to finish it. That in and of itself is a win because I’ve had difficulty concentrating on anything for more than 5 minutes for months now.
