There is a huge sense of foreboding building throughout this book. Very dark, creepy and unsettling.

Crazy plot twist towards the end, was slow until the last two chapters

This was an amazing book. I rather suspected how it would end but was still happy that it happened this way (and that I was able to foresee it).

This is a story of Mike and Ellie, they meet, fall in love instantly and marry. Ellie is stupidly rich and Mike is poor and a nice person would say he lacks ambition. First things first, not a fan of Mike

I legit was like "Ellie girl get away from this bum" She is so rich and he is living it up on her dime and bossing her around. This fucking guy.
Anyway this Agatha Christie has no detective but it is not necessary, great plot, great setting and when the mystery shows up it is good and interesting.

Not your typical Agatha Christie novel. The murder happens very late and it is hard to say much without giving away the twists of the plot. I enjoyed reading this. Reminded me of Daphne duMaurier. Would like to read more of Christie’s novels.

Not one of Christie's best, in terms of building suspense, but what a twist at the end! Really more of a meditation on the essential character of people and how it expresses itself.

Consider me gagged and gooped
