So different from her other novels! And to some extent a little before it’s time?...I don’t know why that stood out to me

I remembered this story in pretty thorough detail from the last time I read it, several decades ago. That fact speaks to the effectiveness of the story. I had not remembered that in this book Christie used a strategy that made one of her earlier novels very, very famous
Spoiler that is, that the narrator is the murder. I don't know why The Murder of Roger Ackroyd should have been so much more memorable to the public at large--probably because it was the first time it was done.
. Her psychology is spot on here--the narrator is quite fascinating.

This is my least favorite Agatha Christie book that I have read. I felt as though nothing happened until 75% of the way through it. Also, I thought the twist was kinda lame.

I have tried reading this book twice now, with several years in between, and I just cannot get into it.
