I've read this more than once in the past couple of decades. Like most of Christie's books it's now dated with stereotypes, no surprise there as it was written in 1967. Some people are always going to want a big twist but that's not what this book is about; it's the psychological factor that slowly creeps up on you. That single mindedness that allows people to do they things they do without remorse. Don't expect a big blowout twist by today's thriller standards, but this is still one of the quietest, yet most chilling books I've ever read.

I will be honest here. I watched the BBC production of this book before I read the book. I liked the production, so I had wanted to read this book for a while.
That being said, I vaguely knew the twist that would happen at the end going into the book. This book seemed fairly slow to me. The build-up to the twist ending took up most of the book, but for some reason seemed only semi-creepy to me.
Maybe if I hadn't already known about the ending, I would enjoyed this book more.
In conclusion, this was an enjoyable enough read, but definitely not one of my favorite Agatha Christie books.
